NEW YORK SUMMER MUST SEES & DOS
New York City has a ton to see and do, but specifically, here are my favorites for summer that are only offered in the warmer months.
Go to a Yankee Game
There is nothing more iconic than to view America’s favorite pastime. And why not see the Yankees, who have won 27 World Series Championships, which is more than any other MLB team in history. Don your best blue and white attire, buy a hotdog and cracker jacks, and cheer on the Yankees!

Row Boats in Central Park
On the east side of the Park between 74th and 75th streets, you will come upon the Loeb Boathouse where you can rent boats from April through October (weather permitting) between 10am and dusk. Boats are $15 per hour (cash only) and each boat fits up to four people. I would suggest getting to the Boathouse at 10am, as the line gets LONG.

Rent Toy Sailboats in Central Park
After a real life row, walk a few steps to the east to the pond where you can rent a model boat (or eat at the outdoor tables of the Kerbs Memorial Boathouse and watch others pilot radio and wind-powered boats!) Remote control sailboats are available from April through October (weather permitting). Boats are $11 for 30 minutes.

See the Fireworks on the 4th of July
While many New Yorkers leave the city on the nation’s Independence Day, if you find yourself in Manhattan, take the opportunity to see Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks. Alternating each year, the fireworks are launched off of barges either on the East River or on the Hudson River.

See a movie in Bryant Park
Every Monday night in Bryant Park during the summer, you can bring a blanket and sit on the Lawn to enjoy a feature film that is projected onto a big screen! The Lawn opens at 5pm for blankets and picnicking and the chosen movie begins at sunset (usually between 8 and 9pm). I would suggest getting there at 5pm, as all bags are inspected before entering the Lawn area, which could take some time! Bring food or enjoy one of their many vendors.

Attend a Shakespeare in the Park Production
In Central Park’s Delacorte Theatre, two Shakespeare plays are put on each summer. While tickets are free, there are a number of different ways these in-demand tickets can be obtained. Two popular ways are as follows: For each day there is a public performance, the Delacorte Theatre distributes tickets at noon. A limited number of free tickets are also given out by a mobile lottery on the TodayTix app.

While the heat during a New York summer never seems to end, these activities do have expiration dates! Get out there and enjoy the gorgeous weather, coupled with these activities!
